As an affiliate, all that is required of you is to simply place the merchant’s ad on your website. Then after that, you virtually do nothing but wait for anyone to click on the merchant’s ad and later collect your profits. Easy, right? Well, not quite! Many affiliates earn almost nothing from their affiliate programs simply because they do nothing. Remember that affiliate marketing is but another form of marketing, and you’ll definitely need to market your merchant’s product for you to earn something.

Affiliate links are something we all have to live with in internet marketing, but unfortunately we sometimes find that unscrupulous people hijack them. How do you think the top super affiliates are making their money online? They start by finding a product that people want, locating the keywords that aren’t too competitive, creating a blog about that product, write a few posts and then let the search engines do the rest. They rinse and repeat this process over and over again. In no time at all they have 15 sites that are pulling in at least $300 a month. That’s $4,500 that requires no more work.
